Rome, June 19, 2025
On June 11, 2025, UpSurgeOn was awarded the San Camillo‑Forlanini National Innovation Prize in Healthcare during a prestigious ceremony held in the Sala della Protomoteca on Rome’s Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio)—a venue of extraordinary institutional and symbolic importance in Italy.
The event, celebrating the 10th edition of the “Premi Eccellenze in Sanità”, took place with the participation of the President of the Italian Republic and was conducted in the presence of leading figures from healthcare, academia, and public institutions.

Chairing the ceremony were Rosi Bindi, former Minister of Health; Prof. Eugenio Gaudio, former Rector of Sapienza University of Rome and President of the Scientific Committee of the San Camillo‑Forlanini Foundation; and Roberto Gualtieri, the Mayor of Rome, who welcomed the awardees on behalf of the city.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Eugenio Santoro, President of the San Camillo‑Forlanini Foundation since 2012 and a highly respected figure in Italian surgery.

The Innovation Prize, one of ten national awards recognizing excellence in healthcare and biomedical research, honors a company whose solution demonstrates originality, effectiveness, and impact. UpSurgeOn was recognized for its breakthrough contributions in surgical simulation and immersive virtual reality training technologies.
“Receiving this recognition in such a meaningful institutional setting—and under the guidance of such distinguished national leaders—is an extraordinary moment for us,”
said Dr. Federico Nicolosi, neurosurgeon and CEO of UpSurgeOn.
“It strengthens our commitment to making surgical excellence accessible worldwide through advanced technology.”

This national honor marks a major milestone in UpSurgeOn’s journey and further affirms its leadership in global MedTech innovation.
